ADHD, Youth Club

Weekly update

This week we held our February day meeting, with the lovely Tamsin coming in to do crafts with us.

Cup of coffee, a couple of biscuits, a lot of chat and crafts…. perfect!!!

Tamsin’s button coasters

Mine wasn’t so much of a coaster tho 😂

We also held our first Youth Club session @ Park Farm Centre. We had 11 children attend. They never stopped! It was loud! There was a very competitive football game at the end… who’d have thought a game was soooo important!

Thank you everyone who came down, it was fun.

The next session will be the 8th March 6.30 – 8.30pm. The youngsters will be deciding the name of their Club and designing a poster.

ADHD, Awareness

Clair was on the radio

Clair was on BBC Radio Stoke last night talking about the effects of ADHD, on the Stuart Georges’s Show… where they were discussing whether ADHD is real, after Peter Hitchens wrote in the Mail on Sunday (27/1/19] about his doubts over the conditions existence.

Having read what Peter Hitchens wrote, I have to say it’s so disheartening that so many people still feel able to write so negatively about ADHD without doing the slightest bit of research. They have no knowledge and no personal experience but feel they can very publicly deny it’s existence.

We would have let you all know sooner about Clair’s radio debut but the radio but the station only contacted Clair half an hour before they wanted her to talk. She did brilliantly and we’re really proud of her.

ADHD, Meeting, Parents and Carers

January Evening Meeting

Nice to see everyone at the evening meeting. We had a good catch up, with all our news and plans and check to see how everyone was after the festive period.

As you can see from the picture above our members love their new T-shirt’s!!

On the subject of t-shirts, the committee has had a fantastic response already. While out and about last week, we were approached and asked about support for parents and information about our group (all because of the message on the back of the shirts!).

The topic of our meeting was anxiety and ADHD, we had a really good talk about the subject and how it affects our young people and how other family members.

Hope to see you all next month x
